…driving to Florence and admire the Alps!

The drive from La Spezia to Florence takes about 1h 50m. Driving to Florence on your left side you enjoy the sight on the Apuan Alps Marble quarries for which Carrara is so renowned. Once in the heart of the city, top of the list for first-time visitors to Florence will no doubt include the marble-clad Santa Maria del Fiore, Florence’s cathedral known simply as the “Duomo” with its astonishing gravity-defying Cupola. In the same square stand two other masterpieces – the recently-restored octagonal Baptistry and the soaring 14th-century Bell Tower.

Then drive further into the very heart of Florence where you will be dropped in Piazza della Repubblica near the hotel Savoy to explore the Tuscan capital further on your own (here you could meet the local guide). If you wish, you may choose to stay with your private van to drive between your chosen sites around Florence.

Another must-see is Michelangelo’s sculpture of David, the giant white marble statue of the biblical hero. The original stands in the Accademia gallery ( after have agreed with us for the appropriate timing please book here: http://www.b-ticket.com/b-Ticket/uffizi/default_eng.aspx ) and a marble copy of Michelangelo’s masterpiece is in Piazza della Signoria near the Palazzo Vecchio (old City Hall). Of course, no excursion to Tuscany would be complete without a taste of local Tuscan cuisine and Food-enthusiasts might also like to visit the Mercato Centrale. The fascinating indoor food market of Florence, while shopping fans will find plenty of tempting stores, from designer labels to local crafts – just let your driver know what you are looking for.

Leaving Florence to Pisa

Your driver will make a first stop in Piazza Santa Croce where you can spend a short time browsing the leather stores or exploring Santa Croce church. There Michelangelo and Galileo with other illustrious Italian figures are buried. As you leave Florence for Pisa, you will make a short stop at Piazzale Michelangelo where you can enjoy the fabulous view of the city. Don’t forget to look for the beautiful Romanesque church of San Miniato a Monte which stands above the square, overlooking Florence.

Pisa and the Miracoli court!

From Florence, the drive to Pisa takes about 1 hour 15m. You will soon be in the heart of the town arrive at what is probably the most famous square in the world, Piazza dei Miracoli. There you could admire the Leaning Tower 12th-century bell tower for which Pisa is so renowned. A short stop here will also allow you to take in the incredible Pisan-Romanesque architecture of the Cathedral, and the circular Baptistry. Your drive back to the port of La Spezia will take about 1 hour.
