This full day private excursion to the region of Emilia Romagna offers a variety of truly Italian experiences: a visit to the Ferrari Museum at Maranello, lunch overlooking the castle at Formigine, and a tasting of the prized balsamic vinegar of Modena at one of the region’s traditional family producers.
Leave your hotel in Florence (or your ship in La Spezia) at 8am for the drive to the Ferrari Museum at Maranello (about 1h 45m, or 2h from La Spezia) where you can immerse yourself in the history of the iconic Italian car which has made automotive history on streets and circuits throughout the world. You might even like to take in a Driving Simulation experience or one of the other activities on offer at the museum.
Your next stop is just a short drive away at Formigine where the 15th-century castle will be the backdrop for your typical Italian lunch. We recommend the excellent Calcagnino restaurant for a special gourmet experience.
After lunch your driver will take you just a little further on (about 10 mins) to one of the region’s traditional producers of balsamic vinegar where you will be able to enjoy a tour of the farmhouse and taste the produce. The Leonardi family has been producing balsamic vinegar for four generations and are passionate about their work.
The drive back to Florence takes about 1h 45m (2h for La Spezia)
