SHORE EXCURSIONS

After meeting at the ship’s gangway, we will drive, by highway, north to the gulf of La Spezia towards the five small ancient costal villages knows as the “Cinque Terre”. Built in ancient times by people seeking refuge from the invading Barbarians, lying between the mountains and the sea, the people for centuries endured an isolated life.
arrived in Portovenere, the driver will give you the tickets for your excursion by boat (or if the sea conditions will be to rough, drive you in Riomaggiore where you'll get the train-that stops in any Cinque Terre village) from Portovenere to Riomaggiore, the first of the Cinque Terre, where you'll have the opportunity to walk on the
most famous and easiest trail (a twenty min walk)...the Via dell’Amore (which needs no-translation) trail that affords magnificent views of the coastìline. The path glides above the placid Ligurian sea beneath the mighty cliffs of the Cinque Terre and link Riomaggiore to
Manarola.

There, after enjoying an optional wine tasting of the local wine you’ll take a boat tour along to Vernazza, probably the nicest village with its church on the water and some colour full restaurants. Than you’ll move to Monterosso, the farest village where you’ll meet your driver.
(with the option to back in Riomaggiore with the boat, and meet there your driver) 1hour 20min drive back to the port, having a brief visit of Pisa and the visit of Miracoli Court.
(A second option is to skip Monterosso and have the opportunity, close to Carrara, to stop in Campo Cecina, on the Apuan Alps from where you could have an enchanting panorama of the north west coastline of
Italy)
